Fresco Platform Update – Version 1.6.0 (5 October 2026)

This release adds new options for site management and content editing, improves embeds and design controls, and includes a range of fixes to migration, layout and editing issues.

• Google Tag Manager and Search Console
  • Site Administrators can now add a Google Tag Manager container ID to an authorised site. The setting is only available where Google Tag Manager has been enabled for the site, and the value is checked before it can be saved
  • Site Administrators can now add a Google Search Console verification token in Site Settings, allowing site ownership to be verified without developer support
• Image Caption toggle
  • Editors can now choose whether an image displays its caption. The caption remains enabled by default but can be switched off when a smaller image without accompanying caption text is more appropriate
• Additional fonts for branded sites
  • Branded and Specialist sites can now select Montserrat and Playfair Display from the available font options, with the available font weights updated to match the selected family
• Embeds
  • Embedded content such as Google Maps and Miro boards now work to better fit available screen size automatically, including the caption and text displayed alongside the embedded content
  • The Status Reporting embed has been given styling designed to fit more naturally within Fresco sites, including use of the site's fonts while retaining the status-specific colours
• Migration and Content 
  • Migrated listings now retain custom taxonomy sorting, reducing the need to restore sorting manually after migration
  • Content Groups functionality has also been released in beta to early-adopting site administrators to test and feedback

• Embeds and page layout
  • Embed consent messages now stay within the embed area instead of overlapping the footer or following page content when cookies are declined or ignored
  • Spacing between multiple embeds with captions has been corrected, removing the excessive whitespace that could appear between components
  • Slideshow components now retain the standard padding below them
• Editing interface
  • The character-count for fields with a character limit now remains visible while editing, rather than disappearing
• Navigation and headers
  • Menu items are no longer reassigned to another menu heading when their original parent heading is disabled
  • Quicklinks in a standard header now remain aligned to the right even when the header title is empty
• Migration
  • Pages that were missing after migration from Mosaic are now migrated as expected
  • Symplectic components on affected migrated people pages are now retained and populated correctly
• Documents and media
  • Information about the Prevent search indexing setting is no longer displayed on published pages when a document has been added as a link
• Visual consistency
  • An incorrect colour variant has been replaced with the Oxford Cerulean colour used by the design system

• Media files which are replaced by a newly uploaded file remain visible in Search results
  • Toggle on 'Prevent search indexing' and Save before replacing the file
• Items purged from Trash prior to release 1.5.8 (7 September 2026) remain visible in Search results

Security, maintenance and reliability

• This release includes security updates and other platform maintenance work. Technical security implementation details have been omitted
• Changes have been made to improve deployment reliability
