Fresco roadmap

The University's new WebCMS, Fresco, will continue to provide new features that will be rolled out in a series of fortnightly releases that each bring new functionality and quality improvements. These packages of development will form a series of larger ‘waves’, each of which focuses on new improvements and features. The roadmap explains what work is planned for delivery in each wave, and help the Fresco Product Team to prioritise and focus on these items throughout that timeframe. This roadmap is dynamic and will be updated through iterative, agile processes, ensuring that features are refined and enhanced based on user feedback and emerging requirements. Each wave represents a step forward, with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the University community and the broader goals of Fresco. 

Fresco roadmaps are presented using embedded Miro boards, which we found are a good way to illustrate the different workstreams and priority ordering of work through the roadmap (left to right). You can click on any of the features or epics to view more information on the item.

The embedded Miro boards can be navigated via dragging (left-click) and zooming (mouse-wheel up or down, trackpad pinch or spread). To aid readability, you may also wish to view this board in fullscreen. To do this, click the outward facing arrows in the bottom right of each embedded board.

The roadmap for the current wave 5 is provided below, with an indication of work to come in future waves. Note that future items (beyond wave 5) have not yet been fully reviewed or estimated. This means that their order or specification may change.

Wave 4 completed in September 2026, and a summary of what was delivered is shown below. Items that were not completed in the wave were reprioritised and shifted into future waves accordingly.
