Fresco Platform Update – Version 1.5.9 (21 September 2026)

This release introduces more flexible controls for delegated editing, improves navigation and presentation on smaller screens, and makes listings, links and search behaviour more consistent. It also includes fixes to video editing and mobile navigation, alongside maintenance work to improve platform reliability.

What's new

  • Content Groups and delegated editing
    • Content Groups can now be enabled for sites that need to delegate responsibility for particular sections of content
    • Site Administrators can group pages together and assign Site Managers, Publishers or Editors access to one or more of those groups. Users with restricted access can edit and create content within their assigned groups, while other areas of the site remain unavailable for editing.
    • Users who have not been assigned to a Content Group retain their existing site-wide editing permissions.
    • Content Groups are disabled by default and can be enabled for an individual site by a Platform Administrator
  • Navigation and links
    • Local Navigation now has a dedicated mobile presentation. On smaller screens it appears immediately below the header as an expandable In this section control, with navigation items displayed as a clear vertical list
    • Where a navigation item has both its own page and child pages, the parent page is included in the expanded mobile navigation so visitors can still follow that link
    • On desktop, standalone links in headers and footers now appear without an underline by default and gain an underline on hover or keyboard focus. Mobile link behaviour is unchanged
  • Listings and visual consistency
    • The Sort by control used where visitors can reverse the order of a Listing now follows the site's configured visual styling more consistently
    • Listing images displayed directly on a page through the Metadata component now use the same rounded-corner treatment as other standard images
  • Search following migration
    • Search indexes are now rebuilt as part of the migration process. This improves search results for migrated pages without requiring those pages to be edited before they can be found
  • Video cookie information
    • Cookie statement information for YouTube and Vimeo videos has been updated to reflect the privacy-enhanced configuration used by the Video component

Bug fixes

  • Video editing
  • Video components now show a thumbnail in the page preview while editing, rather than a text placeholder, making it easier to identify the selected video before publishing
  • Mobile navigation
    • The main menu now displays as a single-column list on mobile, avoiding text wrapping across multiple columns
    • Menu items with child pages display the intended navigation indicator and can be followed as expected

Known issues and workarounds

  • Media files which are replaced by a newly uploaded file remain visible in Search results
    • Toggle on 'Prevent search indexing' and Save before replacing the file
  • Items purged from Trash prior to release 1.5.8 (7 September 2026) remain visible in Search results
