Fresco Platform Update – Version 1.5.3 (22 June 2026)

This release features the first delivery of the new Symplectic component, enabling editors to display publication information from Symplectic on Fresco pages. 

It also enhances icons across the platform, and enables paragraph indentation in rich text editing, among other improvements.

• Symplectic component now available
  • Editors can now add the Symplectic component to pages, allowing Symplectic publications to display on Fresco sites
  • Publication listings display with consistent styling for listing text, filters, buttons and links
  • When a visitor selects a publication, a pop-up view appears, with styling applied and colours inherited from the site’s colour settings where relevant
• Updated social media and common icons
  • Editors can now select SVG social media icons separately from general icons in components that support icons, including Icon, Metadata, Button, Banner button, Card button and Hero settings
  • Supported existing social media icons are automatically converted to the new SVG icon set, so editors do not need to update those icons manually
  • A defined set of common legacy icons is also converted automatically to the the new icon set (Material UI, replacing Font Awesome), while preserving existing labels, links and positioning where applicable
• Indented paragraphs in rich text editing
  • Editors can now apply paragraph indentation in rich text fields
  • Indentation is limited to supported levels and is designed to render consistently with the site design

• Card hover behaviour
  • Card titles are now only underlined on hover when the Card has a layout link. 
  • Cards without a link no longer appear to be clickable
• Clearer pasted-text formatting
  • The Clear formatting button now removes pasted blockquote formatting as expected, helping editors clean up copied content more reliably
• Newly provisioned site owner accounts
  • For newly provisioned sites, site owner account details are now retained with the expected email format after first login

• Platform maintenance and supporting work
  • This release includes security hardening and platform maintenance work. Technical detail relating to security updates has intentionally been omitted
  • It also includes internal development and testing work to support migration, publishing workflows, URL redirects, Symplectic migration and platform administration
