Fresco Platform Update – Version 1.5.1 (26 May 2026)

This release brings together practical improvements for site owners and editors, with new functionality including Reusable Content, header subtitles, and new theme colours. It also makes some editing choices clearer, including display-style selection and cookie preferences, and includes fixes for image display, responsive layouts, and migrated content.

• Header subtitles enabled
  • Site Owners can now add a subtitle of up to 128 characters beneath the site title in the header. This gives sites a clearer way to explain a long title, acronym or formal name without overloading the main site title.
• Reusable Content available
  • Reusable Content can now be added as a standard section layout-level option. This allows editors to build reusable page sections more cleanly and avoid unnecessary nesting inside columns.
• Additional theme colours
  • The theme configuration now includes further approved colour options, giving site owners more flexibility while keeping presentation within the Fresco design framework.
• Display-style thumbnails for Listings and Selected Content
  • Listings and Selected Content now show thumbnail previews in the display-style selector. This makes it easier for editors to choose the right presentation style before applying it.
• Cookie preference improvements
  • The cookie banner has been optimised, giving visitors clearer control over their preferences, including a more reliable way to save selected cookie choices. 
  • Button labels have also been refined so the difference between accepting all cookies and declining optional cookies is clearer.
• Cleaner rich text editing
  • An unnecessary “About text formats” help link has been removed from rich text editing fields, reducing clutter in the editing interface.
• Card and Hero image scaling/cropping enhancements
  • Card and Hero layouts that include an image now use an image style that matches the design framework dimensions, reducing unexpected cropping differences between similar visual components.

• Image and card display
  • Card images now keep the intended proportions and rounded corners, so editors should see a more consistent card layout after publishing.
  • Landscape cards no longer leave unwanted white space beneath the image, reducing gaps in page layouts that use card-based content.
  • SVG images used in Flexbox layouts now keep their intended size and placement, so icons and illustrated graphics should appear more predictably.
  • Landscape image and landscape thumbnail Listing styles now use the selected image focal point, giving editors better control over how cropped listing images appear.
• Responsive and layout behaviour
  • Long words now wrap more reliably on narrow screens, so page content is less likely to overflow or be cut off on mobile devices.
  • Hero text now wraps more predictably on mobile screens, making promoted content easier to read on smaller devices.
  • The Search button text in the standard header no longer wraps.
  • Numbered lists added in Text components now keep their numbering when published.
  • Button padding is now retained when left, centre or right alignment is applied.
• Migrated content
  • Several migration-related image issues have been resolved, so migrated pages should be less likely to have missing images, broken banner images or placeholder blocks where an image is expected.
  • Missing migrated content has been addressed, reducing the need for editors to identify and restore content manually after migration.
  • Site search now indexes migrated content more reliably, so migrated pages and content should be easier for visitors to find.

• Platform maintenance and resilience

  • This release includes platform maintenance work to improve performance, stability and deployment reliability.
  • A security hardening update was completed. Technical detail has intentionally been omitted from these notes.
  • Build pipeline and platform configuration work was also completed to support future releases.
