Fresco Platform Update – Version 1.4.4 (26 January 2026)

We’ve made a wide range of fixes to improve consistency, accessibility and reliability across Fresco - helping both editors and site visitors have a smoother experience. 

• Clearer media attribution
  • You can now add and edit attribution text for media items directly in the Fresco media library, making it easier to credit image sources correctly and keep important attribution information visible and up to date.
• More consistent Button layouts
  • Buttons now automatically align with the width of nearby content, e.g. when placed directly after narrow components such as Text, Accordions or Quotes. This helps pages look more balanced and polished, especially when using full‑width sections with narrower content blocks.
• Behind‑the‑scenes improvements
  • Developers have been working on a range of back‑end improvements to support the migration project and strengthen the Fresco platform.

• Accordion heading levels
  • Accordion titles now correctly reflect the heading level you choose, e.g. if you set your accordion items to use H2, this is now shown consistently in the editor.
• Heading spacing
  • Headings now appear more evenly across layouts, with consistent vertical spacing inside sections, tabs and accordions.
• Quote component
  • Quote marks and images now display correctly, with responsive sizing and no visual distortion.
• Event start and end times
  • Times now display clearly in a 24‑hour format.
• Event listings show ongoing events correctly
  • Event listings using the Current & Future Events filter now include events that are already underway but haven't yet finished.
• Consistent event times in metadata
  • Dates and times shown in the Metadata component are now displayed exactly as entered, without any automatic daylight‑saving or timezone adjustments.
• URL aliases
  • Editors will now see a clear error message if they try to set a page URL to a 'reserved' path, helping avoid lost changes.
• Card links behave correctly
  • Cards can now include both a layout link and an image link without conflict, and visitors can select either link as intended.
• Long URLs added to Buttons
  • Longer URLs can now be saved in Buttons, ensuring users are taken to the correct destination
• Header logo toolbar
  • The Header logo toolbar now display correctly in the editor, without overlapping or obscured controls.
• Tab titles
  • Long tab titles and large numbers of tabs are handled more gracefully, with longer titles truncated, scrolling enabled where needed and improved accessibility for screen reader users.
• Images in Text components
  • Images inside Text components now maintain their original proportions, avoiding unwanted stretching.
• Colour themes applied correctly
  • Site colour themes now apply automatically, without needing to be re‑saved.
• Accessibility improvements
  • Improved tab accessibility: Tab components now use correct ARIA labels, resolving accessibility checker warnings.
  • Accessible colour palette: Two colour options that didn't meet accessibility standards have been replaced with an accessible alternative.
• University logo fix
  • The University logo now displays correctly in the header.
• Improved Mosaic‑to‑Fresco migrations
  • Migrated content now comes across more cleanly and accurately, with pages automatically tagged correctly, Cards placed neatly into Tile Grids, and reusable content in Advanced Tabs converting as expected.
